The building of a stupa

Stupas are constructed according to ancient traditions and the filling process (thousands of blessed objects) is done in a very specific and established way.

In the centre of a stupa is the so called life tree which is standing upright in the middle of the stupa. The `filling´ is arranged in a very specific order around the life tree, and consists of numerous Buddha forms made of plaster (Tsa Tsas), mantra rolls as well as valuable objects like statues, Buddhist texts and relics.

Accompanied by special rituals, all those items are placed in the stupa by the Lama. In a concluding festive ceremony the stupa is then closed and inaugurated. From this moment on the stupa and its power field work for the benefit of all.
